Colin P. Kane
Principal
Colin is the lead partner for transaction activities and asset management, including project underwriting, permitting, due diligence, leasing, and project capitalization.
Colin serves as the Chair of the Newport Ad Hoc Bridge Realignment Property Advisory Commission, Chair of the Economic Development Foundation of Rhode Island, Member of Board of Directors for BankNewport, and Member of Board of Directors for Delta Dental of Rhode Island. He previously served as Admiral of the Rhode Island Commodores and as founding Chair of the 195 Redevelopment Commission. He co-founded Peregrine Group, LLC in 2001.
He holds a Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Arts from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Chris Cardarelli

Chris is responsible for the asset management of portfolio investments; including financial management, adherence to business plans and oversight of operational performance. In addition, Chris is involved in the underwriting, due diligence and market research activities for potential acquisitions and dispositions.
Prior to joining Rumford Portfolio Management, Chris was a Manager at Ernst and Young, LLP. At EY, Chris worked in the assurance group with a broad range of clients, including real estate funds and publicly traded companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Professional Accountancy from Bryant University and a Master of Business Administration from Johnson Graduate School of Business at Cornell University.
Matthew Vargas
Partner
Prior to RPM Matt served as CEO and on the Board of Directors for the publicly traded Emcore Corporation. Matt oversaw the restructuring and sale of Emcore to private buyers while simultaneously leading the sales team. Prior to Emcore, Matt was responsible for exponential growth in the KVH Industries defense navigation portfolio and the rollup of the KVH product line into the broader Emcore offering. He has worked in challenging domestic and international environments throughout his career, including Ukraine, Turkey, and Afghanistan.
Matt is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and has an MBA from the University of Rhode Island, He resides in Warwick with his wife Jillian and four children Evelyn, Henry, Maxwell, and Madeline. Matt is fluent in Spanish and Farsi/Dari and serves on several non-profit boards.
